‘PDP, NC and Congress Will Be Routed In J&K Elections, People Are With PM Modi ’: Amit Shah
Home Minister Amit Shah said that people in Jammu and Kashmir have decided to vote for BJP and PM Modi. He also said Congress-NC will suffer defeat in polls.
Jammu: Exuding confidence over the outcome of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said PDP, National Conference, and Congress will suffer defeat in the J&K elections adding that the people in the Union Territory have decided that they are going to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) as they have made up their minds to support the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
After launching the BJP manifesto in Jammu, the Home Minister was asked by the about his views about the influx of separatist elements in PDP and National Conference to which Amit Shah replied that he is not worried.
“I am not worried about those separatists. People have decided that they will be supporting Prime Minister Modi. I hope that your question has been watched by Rahul Gandhi ,” Amit Shah replied to a question asked by Republic media.
Home Minister Shah further stated that the history of the past 10 years of Jammu and Kashmir will be written in golden words.
“J&K's history of the last 10 years will be written in golden words. These 10 years were of peace, good governance. There was a shift from maximum terrorism to maximum tourism," Home Minister Amit Shah said.
Article 370 Will Never Return
"Article 370 has become history and it will never return. We will make sure of that. Article 370 forced youth to pick stones, instead of development, Article 370 made sure there is terrorism," Shah said.
J&K was under Shadows of Separatism Till 2014
Home Minister Shah said that various state and non-state actors were trying to destabilise J&K till 2014.
“All previous governments followed a policy of appeasement here," he said.
BJP 's big promises for Jammu-Kashmir
- Implementing ‘Maa Samman Yojana’ to provide Rs 18,000 per year to the senior most woman in every household in Jammu & Kashmir.
- Providing assistance through the state government for Women SHGs on the issue of interest on bank loans.
- Providing 2 free LPG cylinders every year to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana beneficiaries.
Jammu and Kashmir's Legislative Assembly comprises 90 constituencies, including 7 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 9 for Scheduled Tribes (STs). In the previous assembly elections, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) won 28 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) secured 25, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) earned 15, and the Congress obtained 12.
The upcoming elections will be held in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1, with results expected to be announced on October 8.
The Congress has formed an alliance with the National Conference for these polls.
