Haldwani: Amidst nationwide outrage over the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital, a disturbing video has surfaced on social media. The video showed two women being chased and harassed by a group of men late at night near Sacred Heart School in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. The one-minute video, apparently recorded on a mobile phone, captured a harrowing incident on a quiet side street, identified as Mukhani Road in Haldwani by Prachi Joshi, who shared the footage on X.

In the video, the car carrying women is forced to slow down by a black Mahindra Scorpio in front.. Moments later, a Hyundai N i20 suddenly appears from the right, with two men dangerously perched on its front doors, only one leg inside the vehicle. The men shout abusive comments at the women, adding to the already terrifying situation.

Taking to X, Joshi shared the video and wrote, "Just tonight I was coming back with my female friend from a movie and suddenly two cars, full of 10 men, tried to block our way. This happened straight for 25 minutes. The black Scorpio (with temporary registration T0724UK4618C) was ahead of us... they tried to stop us from passing by opening their doors. The white Nios i20 (UK-04-AK-1928) was behind blocking us so we couldn't run away. The first time it happened we escaped..."

She added,"The second time they blocked us completely by opening all car doors but luckily a man on a scooter appeared... he tried to pass them which gave us a chance to escape. We somehow managed to run from there but just after a few minutes they again tried to do the same (thing)."

The woman also tagged Uttarakhand Police and asked, "Is this how peace and security is being maintained in the city? Why is hooliganism increasing in the city @uttarakhandcops that you'll take a strict action against this matter because somehow this is related to the safety and security of the women residing in Haldwani."

The police are yet to issue a public response to Joshi's complaint.
