India beat West Indies by four wickets in the first T20I at Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday. Chasing a paltry target of 96, India lost opener, Shikhar Dhawan, early after which they also lost back-to-back wickets of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant as the Men In Blue were reduced at 32/3. It seemed that they would lose the plot when skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed as the 2007 ICC World T20 champions lost half their side on 69. However, Ravindra Jadeja kept his composure and held on at one end even after Krunal Pandya's dismissal. In the end, Washington Sundar sealed it off with a six as India got home with 16 balls to spare.

Even though it was a hard-fought win, the fans were really impressed by Team India's performance. Here are some of the reactions.

Earlier, Team India made a fresh start post their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. This match also saw Shikhar Dhawan feature in Indian colours for the first time after the thumb injury which had ruled him out of the quadrennial event. However, all the attention was on young Navdeep Saini who made his international debut.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first. His decision was spot on as his bowlers chipped in with early wickets. He scalped three wickets. In fact, he took two wickets off consecutive deliveries and missed out on a well-deserved hat-trick. The two straight wickets included Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer while the third scalp included Kieron Pollard in the final over as West Indies were restricted to 95/9 in their 20 overs. Only Pollard showed some resistance with a run-a-ball 49. Saini finished with figures of 3/17 in his four overs at an economy rate of 4.25 which also included a maiden.
