Jacques Kallis who is widely considered at the greatest all-rounder the game has produced celebrates his 44th birthday today. He has had a prolific international career where he amassed 13,289 runs. He also took 292 wickets in 166 Tests. In ODI cricket, he scored 11,579 runs and ended with 273 wickets in 328 ODIs.

Kallis has had an equally impressive Indian Premier League (IPL) career. He has scored 2,427 runs in 96 innings at an average of 28.55 with 17 half-centuries to his name. He picked up 65 wickets with best figures of 3 for 13. Let us have a look at his top 5 IPL performances:

IPL 2010: RCB VS KXIP, Match 7, Bengaluru

Batting first, Punjab scored a massive 203/3 with Bopara and Bisla slamming half tons. Bengaluru chased down the target inside 19 overs on the back of Kallis' brilliant 89 off 55 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. He also chipped in with the ball and took 1 wicket of Bisla who was batting on 75.

IPL 2010 MI vs RCB, Match 14, Cuttack

Mumbai batting first was bowled out for 151. Kallis contributed with 1 wicket. He led the team's chase with 66 not out of 55 deliveries with 10 boundaries. RCB managed to chase the target in 19.1 overs. The opening partnership of 85 runs with Manish Pandey led the foundation of the run chase.

IPL 2011: KKR vs DC, Match 6, Kolkata

Kolkata batting first scored 163 and Kallis top-scored with 53 off 45 balls. Chasing a target of 164 the Deccan Chargers did not begin well as they lost Shikhar Dhawan early. Eventually, they were bowled out for 154. Iqbal Abdulla picked up 3 wickets. and rattled their batting line-up. Due to Kallis' fine knock, KKR managed to secure a win.

IPL 2013: KKR vs KXIP, Match 35, Kolkata

Punjab batting first scored 149/6. KKR chased the target comfortably in18.2 overs. Kallis was on the sideline in the previous match owing to an injury but not only did Kallis play in this match, but he also bowled a miserly spell and took the wickets of two key Kings XI batsmen, besides chipping in with a steadying 37 after Knight Riders lost Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan in the second over. He was chosen as the 'Man of the Match'.

IPL 2014 - KKR vs MI, Match 1 - Abu Dhabi

This was the tournament opener and IPL has shifted to Dubai for the initial phase. Kolkata scored 163 in their 20 overs. Kallis top-scored with a magnificent inning of 72 from 46 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Mumbai started their chase but could not really get going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were bowled out for 122. Kallis did not grab a wicket but bowled three economical overs for 23 runs and KKR started their campaign with a win. Kallis was adjudged as 'Man of the Match' which went on to be his last MOM award in the IPL.
