Ashutosh Sharma Played With an Injury During LSG vs DC? Coach Reveals Sensational Details After Win in IPL 2025

IPL 2025: It was a night that belonged totally to Ashutosh Sharma. The Capitals batter snatched win from the jaws of defeat against Lucknow on Monday. It was a game that went right down to the wire. Ashutosh remained unbeaten on 66* off 31 balls to take his side over the line.

Not that he was not popular, but after the game - he has now become the toast of the nation. But did you know he was playing with an injury? Not many would know bout this commitment shown by the cricketer. Former India cricketer and now coach of DC, Hemang Badani, revealed this. Badani revealed that Ashutosh played with a cut finger. 

'He's had a cut finger' - Hemang Badani

"I have to mention about this lad. He's had a cut finger. There was a chance he could have missed out on the game. I had a chat with him, asking him two days prior to the game when he had that cut. 'How are you feeling? Will you play?'" Badani said.

‘Finishing off the game in style’

"He said quite clearly, 'I am playing the game. I want to be in the middle.' There's one thing that you speak of being in the middle, wanting to and the desire to play but to go in there, to bat the way you batted. 15 off 15 at one stage, but then he goes on to get 66 off 31. Finishing off the game in style," he added.

Ashutosh was part of the Punjab Kings outfit in season 2024. He was released and then the Capitals bought him and he has repaid their faith in him straightaway. 

With a good start t the campaign, the Capitals would like to keep up the winning momentum when they take on SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday, March 30.
