Team India Under-19 Women's squad won the U19 Women's T20 World Cup after South Africa Women in the summit clash. The ‘Women in Blue’ successfully defended their title which they had won back in 2023 after defeating England. The BCCI has made a huge announcement to commemorate their historic world triumph
The Board of Control for Cricket In India [BCCI] has honoured Team India's U19 Women's T20 World Cup -winning team as they successfully defended their title in Malaysia. The cricket board has announced a prize money of INR 5 Crore for the team and it's support staff, which was led by Head Coach Nooshin Al Khadeer.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the India Under-19 women’s team for successfully defending their title at the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia,” a statement from the BCCI read.
"To honour this remarkable achievement, the BCCI has announced a cash reward of INR 5 Crore for the victorious squad and support staff, led by Head Coach Nooshin Al Khadeer," the statement added.
The Niki Prasad-led side edged past South Africa with a commanding nine-wicket win in the summit clash in Malaysia. Their composure and capacity made rounds throughout the tournament. India opened their account by defeating West Indies in the first match, and they remained undefeated throughout the tournament. Team India won the inaugural edition of the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup under Shafali Verma which took place in 2023. As defending champions in 2025, the U19 Women in Blue showcased unmatched grit and tenacity as they steamrolled through their opposition to remain undefeated throughout the course of the tournament.
