Jay Shah To Be Youngest Ever ICC Chairman, Elected Unopposed
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has been elected as the new chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). He is set to take over the reigns from Greg Barclay.
Jay Shah is all set to move on from his role as BCCI secretary has been announced as the new ICC chairman. The current chairman, New Zealand's Greg Barclay, had announced that he would be stepping down from the role and not renewing his tenure.
Jay Shah will also become the youngest ICC Chairman in history at just 35 years old. ICC also confirmed that Jay Shah was elected as the chair without facing any opposition in his candidacy.
Jay Shah elected unopposed as ICC Chairman
The ICC in their official statement confirmed that Jay Shah was elected as the new independent chair replacing New Zealand's Greg Barclay. Jay Shah will take over as the new chairman of ICC from December 1st, 2024 and will be moving on from his role as the BCCI secretary.

We stand at a critical juncture where it is increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and introduce our marquee events to new global markets. Our goal is to make cricket more inclusive and popular than ever before,” said Jay Shah in his first statement after being elected as the new ICC Chairman.
As Jay Shah was announced as the new ICC chairman, he was congratulated by the cricketing world as they remained confident on Shah ushering a new era in cricketing world.
