Chris Gayle: Batsman tweets over top airline's 'Ridiculous' service

Chris Gayle slammed Emirates airlines on Twitter and said that he had a confirmed "business class ticket" but the airline wanted him to travel in economy class.

When you are a cricketer, you tend to travel from place to place to play matches in various leagues or other international commitments. So a long delay in flights is likely to increase frustration amongst them. Chris Gayle, the flamboyant West Indies batsman, who is one of the greatest T20 batsmen of all time, took to Twitter recently for venting out his frustration on a top global airline.

The left-handed batsman slammed a top airline's poor treatment towards the cricketer despite having a confirmed ticket in his name as he was told last minute that the flight was overbooked. 

 

 

Taking note of Gayle's post, the airline replied: "We're sorry to know about this, Chris. Please DM us your booking reference and email address. We'll check your options and let you know".

The 40-year-old cricketer recently became the all-time highest West Indian run-scorer in one-day international cricket, going past the legendary Brian Lara during the second ODI match on India's tour of West Indies in 2019. The match was also Chris Gayle's 300th match, taking him past Lara's 299 as the most by a West Indian in the 50-over format.

Chris Gayle's retirement has been rumoured for quite some time now but the explosive West Indian has made it clear that he has not finalized anything yet. West Indies will tour India in December and Gayle will probably be a part of that squad.

Recently, the 'Universe Boss' was not picked up in the inaugural draft of the first edition of The Hundred next summer. He was snubbed by the eight franchises after entering the draft at the highest reserve price of £125,000.
