  • Pant made his IPL debut in 2016 for Delhi Capitals.
  • LSG snapped up the 27 year old for a whopping 27 crore.
  • Rishabh Pant will lead Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025.

Rishabh Pant will have a tough task to cut out in IPL 2025. The 27-year-old has been handed the reign of Lucknow Super Giants and will have the responsibility to end the IPL side's title drought.

Rishabh wasn't retained by the Delhi Capitals and incidentally, LSG will open their IPL 2025 campaign against his former side. The star Indian wicketkeeper has been heralded very highly, especially in the shortest format and he needs to be at the forefront of LSG's IPL 2025 journey.

The franchise shelled out a whopping 27 crore on him and expectations will be huge this time around. As the IPL 2025 is knocking on the door, Pant was seen giving a pep talk to his squad before the tournament hits the right chord. In a video posted by the Lucknow Super Giants on social media, the captain said ,"We want to create a place where people can come and express themselves. It is just a very simple idea. It is easier to say than to do it because it requires a lot of effort from each and every individual. It is not just the management, I think it is because of the players we can create that environment.

“I feel there is a lot of experience in the group. I think management has a lot of experience. We have a lot of senior players, Nikky P (Nicholas Pooran) is there, (Aiden) Makram is there, (David) Miller is there. I think a lot more are there. Just keep sharing your experience with the younger guys and let that experience flow in this group. I think that is something we can learn a lot from all the senior guys. And just take it forward one day at a time, just giving your 100 per cent, keeping the best interest of the team without even thinking that our team will back you or not.”

Except for Nicholas Pooran, Lucknow decided to invest big in Indian players as they retained Mohsin Khan, Ayush Badoni, Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav who will be playing central roles for the IPL team.
