‘Stand Up and Applaud’: Dinesh Karthik Pays Tribute to R Ashwin After His Historic Ton at Chepauk

The Indian Cricket Team saw a savior in R Ashwin on Day 1 of the India vs Bangladesh Test match in Chennai. Bangladesh had a strong opening against the hosts after their pace attack took out critical wickets. But Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were the stars of Day 1, as they put Bangladesh at bay and took the edge. The veteran all-rounder took matters into his own hands and secured a historic ton. R Ashwin had everyone up on their feet after he secured a historic ton at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The ton was special as he secured it when India desperately needed it, and that too in front of his home crowd. The entire venue stood up to applaud him. Even Dinesh Karthik puts respect on Ashwin after his solid knock for the Men in Blue against a resilient Bangladesh . Taking to 'X' (Formerly Twitter), DK applauded the veteran spin great and hailed him as one of India's greatest all-rounders.
"Stand up and applaud for one of the greatest all rounders from our soil. Well done @ashwinravi99. Couldn't be happier for you, bringing up his century in his home ground yet again," Dinesh Karthik tweeted on the social media platform.

Bangladesh chose to bowl after winning the toss as Hasan Mahmud unleashed his fury to dislodge Team India's top-order batters like Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli . But Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant helped the Men in Blue stitch a critical 62-run partnership to keep them afloat. At one point, the hosts looked bleak as they had 144 and lost six wickets. But then, the all-rounders unleashed their fury as Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin put forth a formidable 195-run partnership to elevate the score to 339/6 at the end of Day 1 in Chennai, TN. Jadeja scored an unbeaten 86 while R Ashwin secured a 112-ball 102* with 10 fours and two sixes. Both of them will begin Day 2 action at Chepauk.
