Richa Ghosh's Astute Play Causes Mooney's Unfortunate Exit

India's Counterattack Before Lunch

The collaboration of Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield, who contributed 49 runs, was critical for Australia, especially given their 187-run disadvantage after the first inning. Mooney's run-out, on the other hand, boosted the Indian team's enthusiasm, resulting in another wicket before the first session of Day 3 was completed. Litchfield, who had worked hard, attempted a reverse sweep against a longer ball from Sneh Rana but missed, causing her stumps to rattle.

Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar's partnership had already put India in command of the Test. The Indian squad hopes to maintain their momentum with two more wickets before lunch and favourable pitch conditions. In order to change the direction of the contest, Australia must create something exceptional.

The Test's momentum altered when India successfully sent both openers back to the pavilion before lunch. Despite Australia's initial domination, Mooney and Litchfield's wickets dragged India back into contention. India is well-positioned to capitalise on the pressure they've put on Australia, thanks to a large lead and favourable pitch conditions. With their backs against the wall, the visiting side confronts an uphill struggle and must perform an incredible comeback to save the Test.
