India Stars To Dazzle In The WBBL, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma Picked In First Round
The Women's Big Bash League starts on October 27, 2024. The first match of the WBBL will be played between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat
Women's Big Bash League Draft: Just like the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Big Bash League (BBL) has been a revelation, for both men's and women's cricket. The Big Bash League attracts a lot of eyeballs and goes a long way in nurturing eyeballs. The Big Bash League will return in the fall of 2024 and it promises to be bigger and better.
Star India Players In Demand During WBBL Draft Picks
Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues were the three picks. Deepti Sharma who set 'The Hundred' on fire was the fourth pick of the day and was roped in by Melbourne Stars. Deepti's compatriot Jemimah was the seventh player to be presented. Rodrigues has been picked up by the Brisbane heat. Shikha Pandey was also picked by Adelaide Strikers in the second Round.
Meanwhile, India's T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav were among the 13 plyers who were not picked by anybody in the draft.
Overseas Players Go Big In WBBL Draft
Hobart Hurricanes picked Danni Wyatt, the first player selected in the draft. English spinner Sophie Ecclestone went to Sydney Sixers. Heather Knight and Deandra Dottin went to Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades.
