IPL 2025: KKR vs LSG Rescheduled, To Be Played On April 8 In Kolkata

The IPL 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants has been rescheduled and will now be held on April 8 at the Eden Gardens.

The IPL 2025 match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants has been rescheduled, the BCCI has announced. The match was supposed to be held at the Eden Gardens on April 6 but will now be played on April 8.

KKR vs LSG Match Reschduled 

Due to Ram Navami , there were concerns regarding the security arrangements for the match, but it will take place on a different date.

An official IPL statement read, "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the rescheduling of Match No. 19 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

“The decision follows a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding the deployment of personnel across the city owing to festivities. The authorities have recommended that the game be moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated accordingly. The rest of the schedule remains unchanged.”

April 6 Will Be A Double-Header

The IPL has clarified that only a single match will now be played on April 6 while April 8, Tuesday, will be a double header. CSK take on Punjab Kings on April 8 while Gujarat Titans face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6.

The statement further read, “For clarity, Sunday, April 6, will now be a single-header match day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20) as originally scheduled. Tuesday, April 8, will be a double-header match day, featuring the KKR vs. LSG fixture in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings hosting Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, as per the original schedule.”

KKR faced a humiliating defeat against RCB in the IPL 2025 opener. They were back on track  with a resounding win over Rajasthabn Royals in the last game.
