IPL 2025: MS Dhoni is just not an everyday cricketer, he is a legend and an icon. At 43, he still has a lot of relevance for Chennai Super Kings and that was another reason why he was retained. The former CSK captain has been a serial match-winner for his side over the years and happens to be one of the few cricketers to be playing IPL since it's inception in 2008.

CSK's Highest Run-Getter: It is no secret that Dhoni is not a stat-padder, yet there are a few milestones he would have in his cusp. Dhoni has scored 4,669 runs for CSK and is only second to legendary Suresh Raina. With Raina not playing anymore, Dhoni has a golden chance of edging his former teammate and becoming the highest run-scorer in the history of CSK. 

Raina has amassed 4,687 runs and is the current leading run-scorer for CSK. All Dhoni needs is 18 more runs to go past Raina. 

Oldest Half-Centurion in IPL: Dhoni is 43 and that provides him the golden opportunity to become the oldest in the history of IPL to get to a fifty. He comes in a tad-bit late in the order, bhut he surely has the capability of smashing a quickfire fifty in IPL 2025.

Double Century as Wicketkeeper: Dhoni is a livewire behind the stumps. He has the unique capability of changing the course of games from behind the stumps.
