David Warner, the opening batter from Australia who led Sunrisers Hyderabad to victory in the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL), revealed on Instagram that he has been blocked by the franchise. Warner shared screenshots of the block as he attempted to congratulate his compatriot Travis Head on joining the same IPL team during the auction today.

David Warner blocked by SRH on all social media platforms

Travis was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 6.80 crore in the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday. However, when David Warner tried to extend his congratulations on social media, he discovered that SRH had blocked him. SRH also acquired Australian captain Pat Cummins for a record-breaking sum of INR 20.50 crore.

The rift between Warner and SRH emerged a couple of seasons ago when the Australian star was abruptly removed as captain in the middle of the season and subsequently benched. Since then, the relationship between Warner and the franchise has soured. Warner later joined Delhi Capitals and was retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.
