  • Harry Brook pulled out of the IPL right before the 2025 season.
  • Brook was picked up by DC for INR 6.25 Crore.
  • Capitals have announced Axar Patel as their new skipper.

Former England Cricketer Moeen Ali backed up the BCCI's decision to enforce strict action over Harry Brook after he violated the BCCI's rules. Moeen believes that the ban is not a harsh move. He added that Brook's last-minute decision to pull out from the tournament affects the team's blueprint, and they now have to change everything.

BCCI's Decision Over Harry Brook Pullout Backed Up By Moeen Ali

England Cricketer Harry Brook has been banned from registering for the IPL for the next two seasons after he pulled out of the competition just days before it was supposed to begin. As a result, the BCCI has suspended the cricketer from being a part of the next couple of IPL seasons. The BCCI introduced the rule before the players registered themselves for the mega auction. The sharp move drew criticism, but Moeen Ali believes the action was not severe enough, as the team would have to redevelop their plans.

"It's not harsh. I kind of agree with it, in a way, because a lot of people do that. A lot of people have done it in the past, and then they come back in and they end up getting a better financial package, or whatever it is. And he kind of messes a lot of things up as well at the same time. I mean, it's messed his team up, obviously, by pulling out. Any team that loses Harry Brook is messed up a bit, and they've got to now rejig everything and stuff like that.

"Forget him for a second, but if you do pull out, the rule is that you get a ban unless it's for family reasons or… due to injury or something. If it's injury or something, it's different. But I think if you just pull out, then it's… I kind of agree with the teams. You actually mess a lot of stuff up," Moeen Ali said during his appearance on the Beard Before Cricket podcast.
