Whistle Podu! Amid Champions Trophy Buzz MS Dhoni Lands In Chennai To Join CSK Camp For IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni has arrived in Chennai ahead of IPL 2025. CSK are scheduled to open their IPL 2025 campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 23.

Dhoni has been CSK's crowd-puller since the inception of IPL and his popularity has skyrocketed in the last few years. Dhoni was seen arriving at the Chennai airport with a black t-shirt and he was accompanied by security officials as he came out of the airport. Dhoni was retained by CSK as an uncapped player courtesy of BCCI's new rule. Under the new guidelines, a player who hasn't played for India or held a BCCI central contract in the last five years.

Dhoni's imminent future has been the subject of speculation but the player has remained tight-lipped on his future. Earlier Ruturaj Gaikwad also landed in Chennai and the CSK captain will have a big responsibility to fill in the upcoming season.

CSK's official Instagram handle posted Dhoni's picture with the caption, 'THALA DHARISANAM 🦁🔜ANBUDEN ARRIVED!

Dhoni recently stated that he needs to put in a lot of hard work in order to stay fit for IPL.

As quoted by India Today he said, "I only play a couple of months in a year, but I want to enjoy it the way I started playing, that's something that keeps me going.

“But, of course, for that, I need to put in a lot of hard work for six to eight months because IPL is one of the toughest tournaments. Nobody really cares about how old you are. If you're playing at this level, the level needs to be the same.”

CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs last season which is a very rare phenomenon in the IPL history. Dhoni led CSK to five IPL titles and the onus will be on Ruturaj to carry forward the team's legacy. CSK accumulated a very talented bunch of cricketers and the focus will be on the likes of Jamie Overton, Ravichandran Ashwin and Devon Conway in IPL 2025.
