Pat Cummins Intends To Keep Rishabh Pant Quiet This Time

Paying heed to what might be in store in the forthcoming affair, Australia Test captain Pat Cummins weighed in on the threat that the Indian team would bring. Cummins expects India to take an aggressive approach and admitted that the margin for error against the two-time WTC finalists will be very slim.

Cummins couldn't refrain from mentioning the name of Rishabh Pant . The left-hander has left the Aussies in dire straits several times already in his short career. Pant was the star of the show in 2020-21 when India famously inflicted a 2-1 defeat to Australia. Having experienced the damage Pant can cause, the Australia skipper intends to "keep him quiet" this time.

”I think that those guys, you know, that they’re going to be aggressive. If you miss your area a little bit, they’re going to take the game on. You know, something like a Rishabh Pant might play a reverse lap and it’s an incredible shot. And that’s just part of who he is,” he added.

“I think we’ve become a bit more accustomed to it nowadays when some of those ridiculous shots are a bit more common. But yeah, he’s someone that’s had a big influence in a couple of series and got to try and keep him quiet,” Cummins concluded.
