Mohammad Hafeez missed out on his flight to Sydney

Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan's head coach and team director, is said to have missed his flight to Sydney for the last Test against Australia at the SCG, which is due to begin on January 3. According to reports from Geo News, the former Pakistan opener and his wife arrived late at the airport, causing authorities to deny them boarding.

According to sources of information, Hafeez and his wife ignored the travel schedule, finally taking another aircraft many hours later. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to issue an official remark on the situation. The third Test between Pakistan and Australia is planned for January 3-7 in Sydney. The tourists have already lost the series as Australia secured a 2-0 lead in the series with a 79-run victory in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Mohammad Hafeez finds himself at the centre of an airport error, contradicting his emphasis on team discipline. Despite his recent outspoken commitment to upholding a strong code of conduct and declaring disciplinary sanctions for players found napping in the dressing room, Hafeez ignored airport regulations, sparking concerns among cricket fans.

Pakistan has a stiff fight as they attempt to save their reputation in the vital third test and prevent a series of whitewash. The squad, captained by Shan Masood, has never won a test series in Australia and hopes to change that. Hafeez's airport oversight adds an unexpected dimension to the team's story, heightening the focus on its performance and management.
