Mohammed Shami has been one of India's most instrumental and lethal pacers for over half a decade. After all who can forget his incredible performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 where he had taken more than three wickets in three straight matches? Coming back to the present, he ripped apart the South African batting line-up with an impressive fifer as India registered a convincing win by 203 runs. Shami finished with figures of 5/35 at an economy rate of 3.23 which included two maidens. However, what stood out was his dream delivery that got rid of the Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis.

Shami takes Faf's stump for a walk

It happened in the 22nd over of Day 5. Faf was trying his level best to save the Test match by all means possible. Till then, he had scored 13 off 25 balls riding on three boundaries. However, on the fifth delivery of that over, Faf decided to respect an incoming delivery from Shami as he left it alone. Unfortunately, the move backfired as his off-stump went for a walk. The video of du Plessis'dismissal was posted on social media.

Watch the video here:

Things did not end there as Shami castled Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock to shatter the visitors' hopes. In fact, Shami had earlier disturbed Bavuma's timber with an unplayable delivery. In the 12th over, Bavuma attempted to defend a delivery but it stayed low and ended up uprooting his middle and off stumps as he was also floored by that beautiful delivery.

Equally good with 'outswingers'

Shami is equally good with his beautiful 'outswingers' that troubles the top order and deadly 'inswingers' that "polish off" the lower order. A peek at his records speaks volumes about the high standards that he has set for himself. He has scalped 158 wickets in 43 Test matches and 130 wickets in just 70 ODIs while mostly staying away from 20-20 version of the game.

With a strike rate of 50.8, he has the all-time best strike rate for any Indian bowler who has taken above 100 test wickers and 2nd best overall after Jasprit Bumrah's 43.7 (62 wickets in 12 test match).
