Former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur has backed Jason Gillespie's recent comments on current coach Aaqib Javed. For the unversed, Arthur was coach of Pakistan during one of it's best phases.

‘It is its worst enemy’

Speaking to talkSport, Arthur said, “I love this quote, to be brutally honest. Jason Gillespie is a wonderful coach, wonderful coach, wonderful man. Pakistan cricket just continues to shoot itself in the foot. It is its worst enemy.”

“There are so many good players; they’ve got the resources now; there's so much young talent. They have incredible skill. And yet, it's still so chaotic. It's really disappointing to see," he added.

“They had got some really good coaches who could take them forward. But then that machine that works in Pakistan just keeps undermining, and agendas are driven in the media,” he added further.

Pakistan's SHOCKING CT 2025

Hosts Pakistan failed to win a single match during Champions Trophy 2025. The Men in Green lost their tournament opener against New Zealand, then they were humiliated by India.

For India, Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten century to take the Men in Blue over the line. And then their final game against Bangladesh was washed out due to rain.

Pakistan exited the marquee ICC event with merely a solitary point. Currently, there has been a complete revamp of the side. The national side is touring New Zealand and it would be a new start. Fans back in Pakistan would be hoping they do well.
