NZ vs Pak: More embarrassment for Pakistan following their humiliating loss against New Zealand in the recently-concluded T20I series. Following the shambolic 4-1 loss, the Men in Green are facing backlash from all quarters.

Now, former Pakistan Cricket Board member Kamran Akmal has also lashed out at the Salman Agha-led side. Labelling Pakistan as a ‘local’ team, Akmal reckoned favouritism during selection should stop.

‘Our performance is zero’ - Kamran Akmal

"Our team looked like a local team. It was a shameful performance. Our performance is zero, and nobody has realised it. Look at the ongoing IPL . If you play the youngsters playing there against this Pakistan team, they will win the series. India wins all the matches because they make the team on merit, not like us. In Pakistan, teams are made based on favourites," Kamran said on his YouTube channel.

In fact, after the embarrassing show against New Zealand, captain Salman Agha accepted that the Men in Green were completely outplayed by the formidable hosts.

‘They outplayed us’ - Salman Agha

"They were outstanding. They outplayed us in the whole series. There were plenty of positives, though. The way Hasan batted and Haris batted in Auckland. The way Sufiyan bowled today. When we were coming in here, the focus was on the Asia Cup and the World Cup. I did alright. It doesn't matter when you lose the series," Salman said in the post-match presentation.

The focus would now shift to the upcoming three-match ODI series. The Men in Green would be desperate to bounce back to winning ways. The opening ODI game will take place at the McLean Park ground on Saturday. The Pakistan side would receive a boost as senior players like Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan would join the squad.
