'Sealed Another Memorable Win': Sachin Tendulkar Congratulates Afghanistan After Thrilling Win Over England In CT 2025

Afghanistan did the unthinkable as they knocked out England from the ICC Champions Trophy after securing an 8 run win. The match between the two teams went down to the wire with it looking like it could go either way. In the end, England cracked under the pressure and Afghanistan were able to pick up the win and keep their Champions Trophy hopes alive. The star of the match was Ibrahim Zadran who went on to make 177 off 146 balls to help Afghanistan set a target of 326. 

England batter Joe Root looked dangerous as he made 120 off 111 balls but his efforts did not bear fruit due to England losing quick wickets in the death overs. Following Afghanistan's massive win over England, Indian batting great, Sachin Tendulkar took to social media platform X to congratulate the underdogs on their win.

Following Afghanistan's massive win over England, batting great Sachin Tendulkar took to social media platform X (formerly twitter) to congratulate Afghanistan on their feat. In his tweet he congratulated Ibrahim Zadran on a superb century and Azmatullah Omarzai on his five wicket haul. He then congratulated the whole team on a memorable victory.

Afghanistan Eyeing Another Massive Win 

Afghanistan following their win over England are eyeing another massive win as they prepare to face off against Australia for their final Champions Trophy group stage match making it a do or die situation for the Afghanistan team. Afghanistan are currently third in their group and have two points in two matches to their name.

With a win against Australia, Afghanistan will confirm their place in the semi-finals and Australia will be eliminated.
