Curran was involved in an altercation with the umpire during the practice session as he was seen running on the pitch. Cricket Australia explained in a detailed statement why they banned the player for violating the code of conduct.
A statement read, "The umpire took position next to the stumps, blocking Curran from approaching the pitch and gestured to Curran to move away from the pitch.

However former Australian spinner Brad Hogg extended his helping hand for Curran as he insisted the umpire also had his fault during the event. He posted on X, “Not Tom's brightest moment but the umpires at fault to, rather than walking closer to Tom in a non confrontational manner with a smile to de-escalate the situation he stood in an intimidating manner seeming looking for confrontation. #BBL2023”
He was quickly shut down by netizens who slammed him on social media.
Curran will be seen donning the RCB jersey in IPL next year.
