Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has passed away at 28 years old in a car crash in Spain. It has been reported that his 25 year old brother, Andre Silva who was with him in the car has passed away as well. Diogo Jota had an illustrious footballing in which he played for Pacos de Ferreira, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the Liverpool Football Club. Diogo established himself as a prolific goal scorer at Wolverhampton Wanderers where he played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League, and in their first couple of years in the division. In his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers he scored 44 goals and assisted 19, in 131 appearances, earning himself a 41 million (GBP) move to Liverpool. Diogo Jota's Stint With Liverpool: Historic And Iconic

In his time at Liverpool Jota had become one of the best forwards in the Premier League. The Portuguese forward joined Liverpool in 2020, and quickly became a fan favorite, with Liverpool fans giving him the nickname "DioGOAL Jota." He earned this nickname because he had a knack for being in the right place at the right time and scoring goals. In his five years at Liverpool Diogo scored 65 goals and assisted 26. At the club he became a Premier League Champion, an FA Cup winner, and a two-time league cup winner.

Contributions to the National Team

Andre Silva was an attacking midfielder who spent the entirety of his career in Portugal. In his professional career he played for Gondomar and Penafiel. In his teenage years he played for FC Porto's academy as well as Padroense and Pacos de Ferreira. Silva joined Penafiel in 2020 and established himself as a regular first team player. Before his death he had just finished a season in the second division with the club, in which they placed 11th.
