IMD issues Orange Alert in Tamil Nadu

The southern states of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to experience exceptionally heavy rainfall. This warning was issued by the Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday. "Puducherry, Karaikal, and Tamil Nadu are on orange alert! On November 22 and 23, be ready for heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4 mm), according to an IMD post on X. "Today, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. The general public is requested to avoid going to water-logged, unpaved roads and crowded areas during this orange alert of rain and also make the people around them aware. Be careful, stay safe!" IMD said in a post on X. Heavy rains continue to lash several parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The India Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of heavy rains in Kerala until November 24.
