Why Ashneer Grover was stopped at Delhi Airport?
Delhi Police detained BharatPe's former Managing Director Ashneer (Ashneer) Grover along with his wife, Madhuri (Madhuri) Jain, on Thursday night ahead of their scheduled departure to New York, as officials intensified investigations into allegations of financial fraud levelled against the duo. The development comes a day after the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police submitted a status report before the High Court on alleged financial irregularities committed by Ashneer and members of his family in BharatPe. Earlier this week, the EOW filed a lookout circular against the duo. Sindhu Pillai, joint commissioner of police (EOW), said the couple was “stopped before security check and asked to return to their Delhi residence and join the probe at the EOW office at Mandir Marg next week."
