No fireworks in Delhi & Mumbai during Cricket WC
In the wake of worsening air quality levels in Mumbai and Delhi, BCCI has taken necessary measures to look after the environment and banned fireworks at Wankhede Stadium and Arun Jaitley Stadium. As seen in Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the post-match firework show is quite a spectacle, but the fans visiting Wankhede and Arun Jaitley Stadium will not be able to experience it. “BCCI is sensitive to environmental concerns. I spoke with the ICC, and there won’t be any fireworks display in Mumbai, which can add to the pollution level,” remarked BCCI secretary Jay Shah. Recently, the pollution level rose in Mumbai and Delhi, as it reached a dangerous level. England player Joe Root also complained about the air quality in Mumbai and remarked that he felt like eating air in the city.
