Indian CEO Worth Crores Still Gets Excited To Use Zomato Coupons: ‘I Get Excited About 40 Rupees’

Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management and one of India’s most recognised names in finance, recently shared her thoughts on spending habits, revealing why she hasn’t bought a luxury car and still gets excited about Zomato coupons to save a few rupees despite her significant wealth.
Speaking on the Money & Mental Health podcast, Gupta, who oversees more than ₹1 lakh crore in assets and is worth ₹41 crore, explained that her middle-class upbringing and financial mindset influence her choices.
During a recent episode of podcast, Radhika Gupta shared insights into her personal financial mindset and how it affects her spending habits.
Despite her success and financial stability, Gupta revealed that she still struggles with the idea of purchasing luxury items, including a high-end car.

Gupta, who grew up with classmates who were more privileged than her, admitted that overcoming her own financial insecurities took considerable time.
Although she has developed a sense of financial security over the past five years, she still finds it difficult to indulge in luxury purchases.
"I can’t bring myself to buy a luxury car," Gupta confessed. "Even though I can afford it, every time I receive a bonus, I promise myself that I'll finally purchase a fancy car. Yet, I’ve never been able to do it."
When asked about the reasons behind this reluctance, Gupta speculated that it might stem from either her middle-class upbringing or her professional background in finance. She explained, "I think a car is a depreciating asset," reflecting her belief in the value of practical financial decisions over luxury expenditures.
