India Hit With Double Blow, Nitish Kumar Reddy Ruled Out Of Test Series Due To Knee Injury, Arshdeep Singh To Miss Manchester Test
Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remainder of the England Test series, while Arshdeep Singh will miss the Manchester Test, BCCI has confirmed.
IND vs ENG: India will take on England in the 4th Test match in Manchester starting from July 23. Ahead of the crucial game, India have been dealt a double injury blow.
Nitish Kumar Reddy RUled Oyt Of Test Series
BCCI has confirmed that Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remainder of the England Test series. Areshdeep Singh will also miss the 4th Test in Manchester and Anshul Kamboj has been named as his replacement.
A BCCI statement confirmed the development.
"All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests owing to a left knee injury. Nitish will fly back home and the team wishes him a speedy recovery.
"Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test against England at Manchester. He sustained an impact injury to his left thumb while bowling in the nets at a training session in Beckenham. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his progress.
“The Men’s Selection Committee has added Anshul Kamboj to the squad. Kamboj has joined the team in Manchester. The fourth Test will kickstart on July 23, 2025.”
India are also sweating on the fitness of Akash Deep and Rishabh Pant. Akash had to be attended by the medical team at Lord's and didn't take part in any practice sessions as per ESPN Cricinfo. He travelled to Manchester and it remains to be seen how things stand.
Pabt was hit on his finger while trying to save a ball down the leg side and didn't keep the wickets in the remainder of the Test series. He batted in both the innings and after the match, Shubman Gill revealed that the Indian vice-captain will be ready for the 4th test in time.
