South Africa Announced Squad For T20 World Cup

South Africa are pitted in Group D alongside Afghanistan, New Zealand, Canada and the UAE. As many as seven players will feature in their maiden T20 World Cup and the squad looks very competitive. The likes of Markram, Quinton de Kock and Dewald Brevis will lead the batting lineup.

Brevis has proved his credentials in the IPL already and, having been acquainted with the Indian pictches he will be the one to watch out for. Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs miss out on the squad as it stands.

Despite injury concerns, both Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have been named in the squad and will play a pivotal role in the tournament. South Africa reached the final last year but lost to a superior Indian team, who lifted their second T20 World Cup title.

South Africa visited India to take part in an all-format series and were involved in a five-match T20I series with the reigning T20 WC champions. They lost the series 3-1 but gained some valuable experience, which could be a major catalyst in their tournament.
