Vaibhav Suryavanshi slammed a dominating century against England in the final match of the U19 World Cup 2026.
U19 World Cup 2026: Vaibhav Suryavanshi went berserk in the ongoing final match of the U19 ODI World Cup 2026 against England. The 14-year-old smashed a commanding hundred off just 55 balls on Friday, February 6, at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Goes Berserk In U19 World Cup 2026 Final
It was a truly explosive knock from Suryavanshi in the summit clash of the U19 World Cup 2026. It was his fourth Youth ODI hundred for India.
On the sixth delivery of the 20th over, the 14-year-old took a single to complete his hundred in just 55 balls. The celebration was simple for the youngster: he removed his helmet and raised his bat to acknowledge the crowd. The Indian dressing room also gave him a standing ovation.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Misses Out On Double Century By 25 Runs
The carnage continued after Suryavanshi reached his century. On the fifth delivery of the 23rd over, the young sensation brought up his 150 in style by smashing a six over long-on. It took him only 71 balls to reach the 150-run mark.
However, Suryavanshi's knock came to an end on the third delivery of the 26th over when Manny Lumsden dismissed the Indian opener. The 14-year-old scored 175 runs off 80 balls at a strike rate of 218.75. He smashed 15 fours and 15 sixes during his stay at the crease, narrowly missing out on a double century by just 25 runs.
Suryavanshi is currently the highest run-scorer for India in the Youth ODIs. He played 25 matches, scoring 1412 runs at a strike rate of 165.72 and an average of 56.48.
In the U19 World Cup 2026, the 14-year-old is the highest run-scorer of the tournament. He slammed 439 runs from seven matches at a strike rate of 169.49 and an average of 62.71. The Indian opener scored one century and three half-centuries in the prestigious tournament.
