T20 World Cup 2026: There is a lot of speculation over Abhishek Sharma will recover in time and play the big-ticket clash against Pakistan or not. For the unversed, he missed the game against Namibia after a stomach issue kept him out. There is no concrete evidence which claims that he is a certainty against Pakistan. Meanwhile, India captain Suryakumar Yadav provided a much-needed update on Abhishek before the game against Namibia got underway.

In India's tournament opener against the USA, Abhishek perished for a golden duck.

Abhishek's Importance

Abhishek unwell is a massive concern for the side as he is someone who sets the tone of the game early on. The left-handed opener also has a liking for the Pakistan bowling attack. He would be a key player in that game and hence his recovery in time is crucial. There is still a little over 48 hours to go for the match against Pakistan in Colombo. Abhishek back in the side would mean Sanju Samson would have to make way.

India has made it two out of two just like Pakistan and hence the February 15 game promises to be a mouthwatering contest. It is also expected to break viewership records across the globe.
