Param Sundari Box Office Collection Day 2: Sidharth Malhotra-Janhvi Kapoor Starrer Shows Minimal Growth On Saturday
The bigger test here is whether or not Param Sundari can offer respite to lead actors Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, who have been in desperate search of a hit for years.
Param Sundari Box Office Collection Day 2: New Bollywood pair Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's rom-com released on August 29. The movie registered a slow start at the box office, collecting a little over ₹7 crore on day 1. On Saturday, the film witnessed slight growth and managed to cross the ₹15 crore mark in two days in India. While the first weekend collections will look to be over ₹25 crore, the real test will begin as the first week begins.
Param Sundari remains slow at the box office
Like recent releases Son Of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2 and War 2, the biz after the opening weekend matters the most for movies. Param Sundari has been able to pull in audiences, partly due to the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, once the holiday period is over, it will have to maintain similar momentum at the ticket window. The reviews to the movie has been mixed which has put a question mark over its eventual box office run.
However, the bigger test here is whether or not Param Sundari can offer respite to lead actors Sidharth and Janhvi, who have been in desperate search of a hit for years.
Param Sundari collected close to ₹8.5 crore on day 2. The biz was up slightly from opening day figures of ₹7.25 crore. The two day collections are touching ₹16 crore. The theatre occupancy through the day remained below 16% which is not a good sign. This film is directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Maddock Films.
Param Sundari features Sanjay Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Renji Panicker, Inayat Verma and Siddhartha Shankar in supporting roles.
