Hindi Movies Releasing In August: The Independence Day weekend will witness the clash between two much-awaited Bollywood movies - Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani starrer Awarapan 2 and Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta's period drama Batwara 1947. South films like Nani's actioner The Paradise and Yash starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups will also release in Hindi in August. Here's a list of the biggest Hindi movies hitting the screens this month.

Sweater

The movie follows the story of a young girl who is determined to buy a sweater after seeing it on display in a marketplace. However, she must overcome financial hurdles to get the cardigan she desires.

Kalighati

Kalighati is a suspense thriller that is set in the dark and murky world of illegal construction. The movie stars Rudra Chaoudhar and Khanjani Tiwari in the lead roles.

Awarapan 2

Emraan Hashmi returns as the vengeance-seeking Shivam in the sequel to the 2007 romantic drama. In the sequel, Shabana Azmi, Disha Patani and Puran Gabbi feature alongside Emraan. Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar.

Batwara 1947

Based on Asghar Wajahat’s play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai, the film tells the story of a Muslim family relocating from Lucknow to Lahore during the 1947 Partition, who find an elderly Hindu woman, "Mai," refusing to leave the abandoned mansion they are assigned. The movie stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol and Ali Fazal and is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

The Paradise

Director Srikanth Odela reunites with actor Nani after Dasara (2023) for the upcoming action thriller Tha Paradise. The Telugu film also stars Raghav Juyal in the role of the antagonist. Its Hindi dubbed version will also release in the Northern belts.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups

Toxic is a period-set action drama that will feature Kannada star Yash in the role of a gangster. The movie also features Tara Sutaria, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmiini Vasanth and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles. After several delays, Toxic will finally arrive in August end.

Khosla Ka Ghosla 2

Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 is the sequel to the 2006 cult comedy. Directed by Prashant Bangia, the film features Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, Pravin Dabas, Tara Sharma and Kiran Juneja from the original cast, while Divya Khosla, Ravi Kishan, Nishant Verma, Kangan Baruah Nangia and Danish Iqbal join the cast as new faces.
