Kamal Haasan shares heartfelt eulogy for friend and actor Vijayakanth

The passing of Vijayakanth, a remarkable actor, politician, and humanitarian, has devastated the entire film industry. He died at the age of 71 after a prolonged struggle with health issues. On a recent episode of a reality show, his friend and fellow actor Kamal Haasan shared a heartfelt eulogy for the Chatriyan star.

Remembering his late friend Vijayakanth, Kamal said on the recent episode of Bigg Boss Tamil season 7, “We have been hearing the name Vijayakanth for nearly half a century. I am not just a fan of his acting but also his humility and anger. There was always righteousness in his anger. He mostly got angry for the benefit of others."

Kamal described the late actor as one of his most reliable allies and stressed his constant support when needed. He reminisced, "In our industry, whenever people reached out to us about issues we would usually reassure them by saying, 'Don't you worry, I will talk to Vijayakanth immediately," highlighting Vijayakanth's generosity.

He asserted that they had the authority to offer assistance to anybody, knowing that Vijayakanth would fulfill their pledge on their behalf. Kamal urged people to celebrate Vijayakanth's life by striving to live by the same principles, instead of wallowing in grief. Kamal and Vijayakanth shared screen time in the 1986 film Manakanakku. Kamal made a brief appearance as a film director in this movie.

After hearing the news of Vijayakanth's death, Kamal Haasan rushed to Chennai to pay tribute to Captain. In the video that surfaced online, the actor was seen meeting Premalatha Vijayakanth, Captain's wife. 

He further paid his last respects to Vijayakanth and offered flowers to his mortal remains resting in a glass casket.
