Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was killed in a tragic plane crash at 8.45 am in Baramati. Chilling first visuals from the crash site show the rescue team trying to scavage through the debris and charred plane pieces.

A chartered aircraft with Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar onboard was involved in a tragic crash on Wednesday morning. The plane was enroute from Mumbai and crashed at 8.45 am in Baramati in Maharashtra. The immediate response team arrived at the site of the plane crash for rescue operations. Pawar was headed to Baramati to attend a public rally for the Zilla Parishad Elections. Along with Ajit Pawar, the aircraft also carried 3 passengers, 1 crew and 1 pilot. The DGCA officials have confirmed that there are no survivors in the plane crash.  

First visuals from the crash show charred debris of the aircraft. Rescue operation teams rushed to the site and could be seen scavenging through the debris. The officials have tried to contain the damage from the crash landing after a threshold crash landing. Smoke and wreckage could be seen coming out of the crash site where the plane ferrying Ajit Pawar struck the ground. The plane was piloted by Captain Sahil Madan. Also onboard was Captain Yash.

As per the official statment, the crash took place at the Baramati airport. The Deputy CM was onboard a Learjet 45.
