Fire Breaks Out on Fishing Boat Near Alibag in Mumbai, 20 Fisherman Rescued | VIDEO

A fishing boat caught fire in the open sea near Alibag this morning, leading to significant damage. Reports indicate that the blaze consumed approximately 80 percent of the vessel, including the fishing nets on board. 

There were between 18 to 20 fishermen aboard the boat at the time of the incident, but thankfully, all crew members are safe. The boat, owned by local fisherman Rakesh Maruti Gan from Sakhar village, experienced an emergency situation. 

The exact cause of the fire is still unclear; however, preliminary information suggests that it may have been caused by a short circuit. Local residents assisted in bringing the boat back to shore, where efforts to extinguish the fire were promptly initiated. 

Authorities are investigating the incident further to determine the cause and mitigate any potential risks for future operations. More details are awaited as the situation develops.
