India vs England: Ahead of the Tests versus England, there is going to be a big decision taken on Gautam Gambhir 's coaching staff. Reportedly, two members from Gambhir's coaching staff are set to get the axe after India's shameful loss against Australia.
GAUTAM GAMBHIR'S SUPPORT STAFF
The Dainik Jagran report claims that assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and fielding coach T Dilip could be removed. While the reason is not yet official, the same report claims that the Indian board is not fully in favour of a huge support staff.
Team India have a huge support staff comprising off Sitanshu Kotak, who became the batting coach, and then there is former South Africa pacer Morne Morkel. The ex-SA cricketer was roped in as the team's bowling coach. Apart from them - there are three throwdown specialists, two massage therapists, a senior and a junior physiotherapist, a team doctor, a security and operations manager, a computer analyst, and a few logistical and media managers.
Gambhir and his support staff tasted success recently when Team India, led by Rohit Sharma , clinched the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. Now, the challenge for Gambhir would be to help the side do well in England. The Test series against England starts in June.
India's England Tour
Team India will begin their 45-day trip to England with the opening game at the iconic Headingley on June 20. The Indian side would be eyeing their first win in a series versus England in England since 2007.
"The first four-day match will be hosted at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury from May 30. The second match is scheduled to begin a week later on June 6 at the County Ground in Northampton," the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.
