'Get him off': Steyn furious with Quinton de Kock's innings against NZ in warm-up match
Dale Steyn was not content with Quinton de Kock's knock from South Africa's warm-up game against New Zealand. It was SA's 2nd practice game of ODI World Cup.
Quinton de Kock continued to bat brilliantly after achieving his half-century against New Zealand in the 2023 World Cup warm-up game in Thiruvananthapuram. QDK's incessant knock left former South African quick Dale Steyn somewhat perplexed. In the match, De Kock kept on batting and even after reaching a significant score, he did not retire, which is a provision available in the warm-up games.

Dale Steyn not happy with Quinton de Kock's knock
Steyn appeared to be disappointed since the warm-up game was an excellent opportunity to evaluate how the Proteas' lower middle order would fare against a strong New Zealand attack in a match that would have an intriguing conclusion.
While Steyn's argument made sense, but soon it did not matter as the rain came spiralling down leading to the covers to come on. Afterwards, no play had taken place. However, the match was supposed to get a bottom line and indeed a conclusion was attained, which was New Zealand won the match by 7 runs (DLS), with South Africa finishing at 211/4 after 37 overs.

Ahead of the start of the ODI World Cup 2023, Dale Steyn has brought forward the names of 5 fast bowlers who could pounce their authority in the WC 2023. Steyn's list contains a mix of youngsters as well as veterans. From his native land, he chose Kagiso Rabada, who is arguably the premier pacer in the world right now.
From the New Zealand squad, he came up with the left-armer Trent Boult, whereas Mark Wood made it to his list from the defending champions' side England. As for India, he plucked Mohammed Siraj from the battery which includes Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami as well. Bumrah and Shami were not the only ones who received a snub from Steyn, even the highest wicket-taker from the previous two World Cups, Mitchell Starc, could not get a reservation from the former South Africa speedster. Aside from them, Dale Steyn took the name of Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi.
