Umpire FORCES Ravindra Jadeja To Remove Extra Taping, All-Rounder Starts To Bleeding Next Ball
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India is taking on Australia in Dubai in a mouthwatering semi-final clash.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Unbeaten India are taking on a depleted Australian side in the semi-final on Tuesday in Dubai. And there is controversy straightaway. India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja found himself in the middle of it. The incident took place in the 19th over of the match when Jadeja was getting ready to bowl.
UMPIRE OBJECTS
Umpire Richard Illingworth stopped Jadeja in his stride after he spotted some taping in his hand. The umpire asked Jadeja to remove it. The India allrounder explained that he has an injury, but the umpire was persistent and finally he had to take it off. Once he took it off, the cameras showed that there was blood in his fingers.
It was his left hand which was bleeding. Marnus Labuschagne, who was at the non-striker's end, was close to the umpire just to see what exactly was happening. Fans would be hoping it is nothing serious.
INDIA VS AUS - LIVE UPDATE
Earlier, Australia won the toss and opted to bat. The Australian team has made two changes to their XI. For Australia, Cooper Connolly comes in for Short, Tanveer Sangha comes in for Spencer Johnson. At the time of filing the copy, Australia were 126 for three in 25 overs. Connolly, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne have been dismissed.
Steve Smith and Josh Inglis are in the middle. Smith has already got his eye set and has also breached fifty, he is looking dangerous from an Indian point of view. Mohammed Shami, Varun Chakravarthy and Jadeja have picked up a wicket apiece.
India would ideally like to restrict Australia to less than 250 as that would brighten the chances of Rohit and his team. Chasing would not be easy for India as the strip would slow down.
