Kieron Pollard, known for his destructive batting, added another incredible feat to his legendary career as he launched Rashid Khan, arguably the world’s best leg-spinner, for five consecutive sixes in a dramatic encounter during The Hundred 2024.

The Southern Brave all-rounder left the Trent Rockets’ camp in complete disarray at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, as his remarkable power-hitting turned the game on its head. Kieron Pollard smashed Rashid Khan for five back-to-back sixes.  

With Southern Brave needing 49 runs off 20 balls, the pressure was on Pollard to deliver something extraordinary. Facing Rashid Khan, a bowler renowned for his ability to choke the flow of runs and take crucial wickets, Pollard rose to the occasion, showcasing his trademark flair and immense power.

Thanks to Kieron Pollard's power-hitting, Southern Brave won the match by 2 wickets with 1 ball remaining. The former West Indies cricketer was named the player of the match for hitting 45 off 23 balls.

Remember that Kieron Pollard, the 37-year-old Trinidadian, has long retired from international cricket and from all major T20 leagues around the world. He was the assistant coach of the England cricket team during the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Rashid Khan was the captain of the Afghanistan team in the same competition.   

Pollard has also served as the batting coach of Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He retired from playing in the IPL in 2022 and was subsequently made part of the coaching team of Mumbai Indians. Rashid Khan is still an active player in the league.
