Pakistan have dropped both Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam from the squad for the five match T20I series against New Zealand. Salman Ali Agha has replaced Rizwan as the captain in the shortest format while all-rounder Shadab Khan will be his deputy in the T20Is.

Shaheeh Shah Afridi has also been dropped from the ODI squad but he found a place in the T20I squad. Majority of the current crop of players who were also a part of the Champions Trophy squad have found their players except for the likes of Saud Shakil and Kamran Ghulam.

Pakistan are scheduled to take on New Zealand in a five-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. Three uncapped players  Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Ali, have been selected in the T20I squad.

 Salman Ali Agha (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Jahandad Khan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Haris, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Omair Bin Yousaf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufyan Moqim and Usman Khan.

Pakistan endured a difficult time in the Champions Trophy as they failed to muster a single win in the mega ICC event. They started the tournament with a loss against New Zealand, followed by a humiliating defeat against archrival India. The last group stage game against Bangladesh was washed out, leaving them without a win in the entire Champions Trophy.

Mohammad Rizwan (captain), Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Akif Javed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Imam-ul-Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Sufyan Moqim and Tayyab Tahir.
