ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Months before the mega ICC event started, there were numerous controversies surrounding the hosts, Pakistan . From unfinished stadiums to false promises, the Pakistan Cricket board did all it could to make the Champions Trophy 2025 a success. But has it been a success up until now? Or has it been everything but success? Yes, the country and it's cricket board has been facing the heat, more, after the exit of the Pakistan side.

The Pakistan side, led by Mohammed Rizwan could not manage to win a single game at the marquee ICC event. And now, the venues are back in focus after a couple of games yielded no result.

Former India cricketer and a 1983 WC-winner Madan Lal highlighted the poor drainage facility at the iconic Gaddafi stadium in Lahore and also highlighted the importance of having super sopers.

‘Bad advertisement for Pakistan’

"This is a bad advertisement for Pakistan. Renovating a stadium is fine, but the drainage system and super sopper should be the number one priority. It isn't good for Pakistan. I saw yesterday's match and their method of getting the water out. There was a lot of criticism," Madan Lal said to a media outlet.

The Men in Green became the first team to get eliminated from the tournament. It has come as a massive embarrassment for the nation as they were the defending champions and the hosts. Pakistan first lost to New Zealand and then went onto get thrashed by India in Dubai. Finally, Pakistan, who would have thought of signing the tournament off with a win over Bangladesh , that too did not happen. The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was called off due to rain. Both teams had to share a point each. As per reports, a lot of changes in the cricket team and the PCB is expected. There have been whispers suggesting that Babar Azam 's future is in doubt.
