PCB Likely To Take Strict Action Against Pakistan Cricket Team After Poor Champions Trophy Campaign, Big Shakeup Expected
Pakistan Cricket Team have endured a dismal Champions Trophy campaign and became the first team to crash out of Champions Trophy 2025.

PCB To Take Drastic Measure After Dismal Champions Trophy Campaign
Pakistan is hosting a mega ICC event for the first time in 29 years. They last hosted the ICC ODI World Cup jointly back in 1996. Following Pakistan's poor display in the Champions Trophy some major shakeups are expected to happen in the near future. But as per reports, PCB is solely concentrating on the successful conduction of the Champions Trophy and any steps regarding the Pakistan Cricket Team will be prioritised later.
A source told PTI, “But, looking at the larger picture, which is the successful hosting of the Champions Trophy and to ensure it brings positive publicity for Pakistan cricket as a host nation, it has been decided to say nothing on the team's performance for now. As it is, even the board leadership realises there is no excuse or defence that can be given for the team's abject failure in the event.'
PCB To Appoint Interim Coach Ahead Of New Zealand Tour
Aaqib Javed's contract with the PCB expires on February 27 and the board is likely to hire someone on an interim basis for the New Zealand tour. The 'Men In Green' are scheduled to travel to New Zealand to take part in a five-match T20I series followed by a 3 match ODI series.
The source also clarified that the PCB might not hurry in appointing a permanent coach and could hire someone from the national high-performance centre before finalising a name ahead of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle in August. Pakistan will seek to end their Champions Trophy campaign on a winning note when they host Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27.
