There was high-anticipation at the toss on Sunday during the India- Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025 game. Amid all the excitement, Muhammed Rizwan won the flick of the coin which gave him the chance to pick what he wants to do. Pakistan opted to bat first and that meant India would have to chase. Rohit Sharma claimed that the toss would not have a massive bearing on the game. But then, Rohit bagged an unwanted record. Rohit has now lost most number of tosses since the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup . This is the longest sequence for a captain in ODIs. Rohit's India edged the Netherlands to the unwanted feat. The Dutch team lost 11 tosses between March 2011-August 2013.

'Doesn't really matter' - Rohit after losing toss

"Doesn't really matter, they won the toss so we'll bowl first. Looks similar to the last game, the surface is on the slower side. We have an experienced unit in batting so we know what we need to do if the pitches get slower. Need an overall performance from the team - with bat and ball. The last game wasn't an easy one for us, which is always nice. You want to be under pressure and test yourself. We are playing the same team," Rohit said after losing another toss.

Given their current form, India start hot favourites against the arch-nemesis. For India a win would mean they make the semi-final, whereas a loss for Pakistan would end their campaign.
