Rohit Sharma shares David Beckham’s secret 

India and Australia will square battle in the next ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 final on Sunday at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

Before the match, captains Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins carried out their pre-final duties, participating in the traditional pre-final picture shoot at Ahmedabad's famous Hazrat Bai Harir ni Vav, which included the trophy.

The captains had a conversation about football legend David Beckham, who travelled to India as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, during the filming. Sharma talked about his recent encounter with the well-known football player.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma expressed his appreciation for meeting football legend David Beckham to his Australian rival, Pat Cummins, during the pre-final picture shoot. Sharma disclosed that Beckham, who is considered to be among the greatest players of his time globally, had stated as a youngster that he wanted to play cricket. The topic of conversation was Beckham's present position as co-owner of Inter Miami CF, the Major League Soccer team in the United States where Lionel Messi plays. Sharma gushed over his meeting with the legendary Englishman. Rohit Sharma said: 

(Meeting with David Beckham) It was good, man. He talked about how he watched it (Cricket) when he was young. He actually wanted to become a cricketer, until his father asked him to pursue football. He (Beckham's father) was quite keen on it.

Yeah I know look I’ve been a huge football fan and he has played for one of my favourite football club, Real Madrid. I had a chance to speak to him about his time there in Real Madrid and it was nice to catch up on a bit of football and a bit on cricket. 

He was a bit of keen to know what happens how do you guys (Team India)  prepare and stuff like that because he was at the stadium for the semifinal game (India vs New Zealand) and it was quite hot just wanting to know how you guys manage and I was trying to explain him yeah just do a lot of recovery and hydrate yourself to play in that kind of heat and just look after your body and then the preparation is obviously a key as well how you prepare for every game and stuff like that so it was nice we had good 15-20 minutes together he had a flight to catch back home, we exchanged few words on families, kids as well so it was nice!
