The ODI World Cup is in full swing as the semifinals will start kicking off from November 15. India will take on New Zealand in the 1st World Cup semifinal while Australia will face South Africa in the second semifinal match on November 16. Both the knockout games will have a reserve day in place.

What is the prize money on offer in the World Cup?
India has emerged as the only unbeaten side so far as all the other semifinalists have at least lost a single game. So what prize money will be at stake for all the four teams competing in the last four? Let's have a look.
A total prize pool of $10 million has been reserved by ICC. The winning team will pocket a whopping $4 million while the runners-up will take home $2 million. Teams eliminated after the group stage will get $100,000 each while a win for each win fetches $40,000.
The losing semifinalists will receive each $800,000 each making the competition a very lucrative one.

Difference between the FIFA World Cup and the Cricket World Cup
But is a mere peanuts in comparison to what the FIFA World Cup offers to the team. The footballing extravaganza saw a whopping $440 million distributed between 32 teams based on their merit. Argentina received a staggering $42 million for defeating France in the finals while Kylian Mbappe and Co. had to be happy with a cheque of $30 million.
Team India has already won nine games in the group stage which means they have already collected a cool $360.000 in the tournament. A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament and only one will lift that coveted trophy on November 19.
