Tottenham met rival Arsenal for a North London Derby on November 23, 2025. The visitors were handed a 4-1 defeat at the Emirates, their joint-heaviest defeat in the Premier League by the Gunners.

Following the match, manager Thomas Frank spoke to the media and apologised to the fans for the disappointment they felt. He shared, "It's extremely painful - I won't walk away from that. We can only apologise to the fans for that performance. It was a bad performance. I've seen a lot of character and fight in this team, but we didn't win enough duels."

Leandro Trossard got his name on the scoresheet while his teammate Eberechi Eze secured his hat-trick. Tottenham player Richarlison also scored a consolation goal; however, the visiting side as a whole was no match for Arsenal.

Thomas Frank Takes Responsibility For Failed Tactical Choices

The Tottenham manager switched to a back-three formation against their North London rivals. However, the formation change failed to pay off as the Gunners found their way through the gaps and were already 2-0 up ahead of halftime.

Following the break, the Dane changed the prior formation, which failed to give results, as Eze scored his second in the first minute following the break.

While taking responsibility for his mishap, he admitted, "I will always take responsibility for my choice. My view on it is that no matter what formation we played, we didn't have enough duels or intensity in the decisive moments, which makes it very difficult to win a football match."

Frank On Keeping The Noise Out

The Tottenham manager shared that following their loss to Chelsea, there was a lot of noise from football pundits, and that he will be expecting similar noise after their loss to Arsenal. However, the Dane explained that the team would keep the noise out and keep their focus on the next game, which is against PSG in the Champions League.
