Liverpool Dominance Over Premier League Grows To 13 Points Following 2-0 Win Over Newcastle United
Liverpool defeated Newcastle 2-0 in their Premier League match whereas title rivals Arsenal dropped points following a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Following Manchester City's massive dip in form and falling from the top of the Premier League table, only one club has managed to pick up the pieces and dominate the league. Liverpool have left behind all of the other competitors for the Premier League title as they continue their dominant run. Arne Slot ever since he has taken charge of the club has managed to keep Liverpool as the dominant force they were under Jurgen Klopp. Now, Liverpool have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to 13 points with 10 games remaining in the season.
Liverpool Defeat Newcastle 2-0 At Home
Liverpool faced off against Newcastle United at home where they were able to win the match thanks to goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. Newcastle failed to score any goals of their own. Liverpool struck early in their clash against Newcastle United as Dominik Szoboszlai found the back of the net in the 11th minute.
Following this, Liverpool continued to dominate the match and it was in the 63rd minute that Liverpool struck again, this time from Alexis Mac Allister. These two goals from Liverpool were enough to secure them the three points from the match.
Second Placed Arsenal Drop Points Against Nottingham Forest
Arsenal who were considered as title rivals to Liverpool dropped points against Nottingham Forest as the Premier League title seems a distant dream for the London based club.
Arsenal in their match against Nottingham Forest failed to score any goals as the match ended in a 0-0 draw leading to points being shared. Arsenal now have 54 points with a game in hand are 13 points behind league leaders Liverpool who have 67 points in 28 matches.
Liverpool will return to action on 8th March when they take on Southampton. As for Arsenal they will play against Manchester United on 9th March.
